After attempting to cancel an incomplete purchase (within just a few minutes), I saw that I was double charged and although they refunded the original transaction, they refused to refund the second charge due to the time it took to argue my case. They called it the "cooling off" period. They converted into Groupon bucks only. Terrible customer service!! Contact is by email only! Avoid Groupon!
I found a deal that I couldn't pass up. $28 for a $50 concert ticket. I had poor connection to the internet when purchasing, so the purchase went through twice. Because it was an all sales are final ticket, they refused to reimburse me even though it was digital error not user error. They offered site credit. Total bs business practice. Told my family and friends not to bother with these ***holes
Beware their shady fine print. I tried booking a hotel room and my card was declined since it was $843. I had to go into my bank app to verify and was told to remake the purchase. I went back into the Groupon app and the link for the declined booking was frozen and unable to click on. So I repurchased the deal. That one went through. Checked into the hotel and thought all was fine. I later checked my bank and found out that they charged me 2 times. They refuse to refund me and the bank wont help
The app is usually okay to navigate but deals are average at best, you can fisn them elsewhere. And even if you do find a decent deal, they might charge your card for an amount different that what your checkout page says and customer support will do absolutely nothing and tell you try again next time. So if you like your money taken at random amounts, give it a try.
For an app that is meant to save money, it takes back any discounts in the form of frustration right as you try to use it. From misleading redemption instructions, to freezing up in the app, to being unable to swipe on the various spots, I rate this app 1/5 because it's basically a shot in the dark. You'll probably be able to use it, but only after awkwardly fussing with this app, holding everyone up, over like $3. It's not worth the trouble if you can't use it to pay online.
New app makes it very easy to find great deals and try new businesses for the first time. Highly recommend. Edit: app works pretty well but deals are not what they used to be. I was sold a deal on restaurant gift cards which turned out to be points on a different site that did not work as expected. Asked for refunds from both sides and was given the runaround. I'm uninstalling this app immediately
they are making it difficult to cancel. I had one deal where I was told by the merchant I wasn't eligible due to the small print and another where I bought wrong number of people by mistake and each time had to wait for ages on a chat. in the first instance I got "Groupon bucks" in the second they sent me a link that required logging on to the website that didn't work. the whole support process is super convoluted, switching from the app to a website and back. not recommended.
I have used this app many times, but it's just such a pain in my butt I don't even know if the money savings are worth the time. For one, they allowed a fraudulent person to make a 2 purchases on my account via chat box by only giving the last 4 of the card on file. And then when I told them it was fraudulent they had me give them the complete billing address, name, CC numbers, etc... just no brains involved in their procedures. Customer service is slow and almost never fixes my issues.
Horrible if you ever encounter an issue. Somehow they lost 2 years of my purchases. There is no customer service phone number and to get their email, you have to search it in google(no link in app). Once you do email them, even if you tell them the groupon that are missing, send them screenshots of the payments made from card statements and of the app showing there was 0 purchases since '22(its '24 now) not matching, They will still say "can't find them" and you eat the $100+ losses
This is a joke! I ordered a discount for an oil change. Used to at the store, supposed to save me $30! It cost be MORE than what it would have cost if I would have paid it outright!! Oil change was on $99 and using app should have cost me 69.99. After all the fine print BS, it was additional $40 for all of what wasn't covered, only 5 out of 6 cans of oil, etc. Lost my business, Groupon! This is just first time I rared, but not the first issue. Scam app!
Recently ordered tickets. They have been processing for days. I can do nothing with them. I also can't find any wa to speak to a human through customer support. When I attempt to cancel them and repurchase as ttheall suggests it won't let me do that either, . Ithows an error message. As far as I can tell, there really isn't any customer service to speak of. There's just a bunch of random regenerated questions and no solution to losing money. Won't shop Groupon anymore. It's a thing of the past.
We were all excited about the deals, but the app/web wouldn't work. Created new accounts and still didn't work. Allowed the purchase to go through and then immediately refunded, stating an issue with the card. There was no issue with the cards. We tried multiple purchases on multiple cards and used the cards fine at other locations. Tried to reach Groupon and no one on the app chat box could help. Bank said it was Groupon who had the issue. Sucks that it didn't work. "Help" could not fix.0 stars
Would like " Save to Cart " option. That way you have a better opportunity to shop, compare and ultimately choose the best service, goods or adventure that's just right for you. I am currently having difficulty accessing the notification logo /phrase Sometimes it's the extra $$ off, that inspires me to, " Buy that service.....it's just too good to pass it up.
Wonderful Deals. However, the app itself doesn't seem to work lately. I'm unable to login to my previously existing account, I'm unable to create a new account to get around that issue, and I'm unable to make purchases as a guest when all else has failed me. At this point, I'm just going to delete the app from my phone and find a similar platform for my needs.
DO NOT DOWNLOAD!!!! seriously a scam, this app was horrible when I tried to contact customer support they completely avoided my question and gave me the run around. I was super excited to try this because some people told me it was awesome, but in my personal experience this was awful. no communication the app wouldn't let me check out, wouldn't even let me purchase something and when I contacted customer service they said. try a different phone, or web browser...um what!
I have used Groupon multiple times over the years and hadn't ever experienced issues, had happily recommended to others and a 5 star rating would have been a for sure. Recently, however, I have encountered various frustrating technical issues. I've tried to troubleshoot even uninstalled and reinstalled. A couple of issues I have faced: Most attempts to open an item cause force stops. Stuttering of page when trying to scroll makes very difficult to find what your looking for.
I travel alot so I'm always looking for some fun experiences when I travel. This app has offered some great deals however when I set the location to my destination it will recommend or give me deals that are no where near where I am going. For example If I am looking for fun things to do in Baltimore MD why would I even see a deal from Florida, Chicago, or even LA? So much waisted time messing with the settings after clicking on deals that were thousands of miles away & no facility nearby!
Tried to purchase a deal, attempted to add two different credit cards to my account for the purchase. Every time I went through all the info to add the app said invalid info. Quite aggregating especially after doing it multiple times. I know both cards are good. Not the first time I purchased a Groupon. Not sure what is wrong with the app, signed in, good credit cards, good signal on phone, app needs help. Went ahead and paid full price just because we were there at the establishment. Not happy.

Love this app. Deals on EVERYTHING and ANYTHING you can think of. There is no reason not to use it for just about any purchase your planning to make, especially: salon/spas, eye exams/glasses/contacts, gym memberships, movie tickets, theme parks, rental cars, home repairs, hotels, dining, oil changes, even highly discounted products. Downside: most services expire, so make sure to check. Groupon doesn't refund/exchange. You have to contact the place to see if they'll work w/ you or lose the $.
We got a groupon to go to an in store event by us. The store ended up closing so we contacted customer support to see if we could get a refund. They said they could give a refund, but could give store credit. Not ideal as is, but we never got the credit. Not to mention the last thing we tried to buy is still listed as pending. Can't cancel, can't even select it to contact them, the app keeps freezing. The whole thing ends up costing more money due to poor quality of the app and poor policies.
